Guided tours aboard an air conditioned tour bus depart on the hour at 10, 11, noon, 1 & 2 on Thursday-Saturday through August 27 from the Chemung Valley History Museum at 415 E Water St., Elmira. Tours departing from 10-1 offer a stop to go inside Mark Twain’s personal writing study, named the #1 Literary Attraction in America by USA Today. Also included are the Elmira Civil War Prison Camp site, the Arnot Art Museum, the Chemung Valley History Museum, the Clemens Center, the John W. Jones Museum, the beautiful Maple Ave and Near Westside Historic Districts, and historic Dunn Field. The 2:00 tour takes a different route and includes stops at both the Mark Twain Study and the Twain/Clemens family burial site at Woodlawn Cemetery. All tickets include complimentary admission to the Chemung Valley History Museum.
