Riverside Family Walk with Flora and Fauna Identification
August 11 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Bring your walking shoes, and you can even bring a stroller, as little kids are welcome with a guardian! We will enjoy a short guided family walk on the riverside trails behind Pirozzolo Park in West Elmira (meet at the parking lot behind the West Elmira Fire Department), while we look for and learn about all the different types of animals and plants who call the watershed their home. This program will be educational, fun, and participants will provide a small snack as well as binoculars to use during the program.
This program will have a Member and Non-member rate for adults – KIDS ARE FREE with a guardian, and all adult attendees MUST pre-register. To register, please click here. Or you can go to chemungriverfriends.org to register.
DON’T FORGET TO BRING A WATER BOTTLE, BUG SPRAY, AND DRESS APPROPRIATELY! We will be hiking through the woods, and it is tick season – high socks (or pants) and boots are recommended, as well as a hat and sunscreen.
