The versatile styles of 5 renowned authors are highlighted in this collection of classic short stories: The Tell Tale Heart, by Edgar Allan Poe, brings audiences under floorboards and into the paranoid mind of a murderer; The Legend of Sleepy Hollow features Washington Irving’s Headless Horsemen, terrorizing upstate New York in 1790; The Monkey’s Paw, by W. W. Jacob, is a chilling, cautionary tale of a cursed object; Guy de Maupassant’s famous The Necklace explores the price one pays for a single evening of elegance; and Mark Twain’s comical outing, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras Country transports us to the highly competitive society of frontier America in the nineteenth century. These timeless glimpses into the human experience spring to life through the innovative use of sets, costumes, lighting and sound effects.
