April 8 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join Associate Curator Natasha Bishop for a live, online conversation with Richard Masters where they will discuss his practice and the works he has on view in 3 AMERICANS. There will be a Q&A session immediately to follow. This event will be held over Zoom on Thursday, April 8th at 6:00pm EST. Link below:
Born in Iowa, Richard Masters now lives and works in New York City. He holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and is Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, where he taught design for 19 years. For the past two decades, Richard Masters has depicted cityscapes in stunning, monochromatic detail. The starting point of Masters’ work is direct observation and photographic studies, although it is never his objective to faithfully recreate a given scene. Rather, he uses his rigorous on-site research to form the foundation for imaginary spaces, make-believe worlds that persuade the viewer of their own reality.
